i2 Scan is a scanning application which automates the scanning, naming and storing of your documents. It also provides support for batch scanning is scanning a large volume of documents in one go. It can scan to a nominated folder or even to a designated document management system.
Some of its features are:
- Job set up based on document settings and business rules
- Job setup includes the ability to create fields on multiple pages of a document (not just the first page)
- Includes job separator sheets for automatically segmenting out documents
- Zonal OCR to read fixed, defined areas on documents
- Zonal OMR. Read marks such as ticks, crosses or signatures
- Create field pull down lists for fixed index value selection
- Barcode tool to drag over and read a barcode to populate an index field
- Batch processing allows scanning, profiling and exporting of indexed documents at different times
- Import a CSV file as part of the indexing process for example part numbers, client codes etc
- Text file export of index data and image paths in either CSV or XML formats
- Output file formats include TIF, PDF, PDF/Web, PDF/A and text searchable PDF
- Automatically highlight and zoom to a searched text string using i2 Smart Seek

The latest update now adds these features:
- You can now create custom scripts DURING the processing of a field (zone) of data within i2 Scan as well as during export of the batch.
Let’s say to want to replace the way the date is to be extracted, change a character or look up and return different information at the zone level. All of these are available by creating your own custom VBS, .exe or .bat scripts.
- Addition of detect page orientation, brightness and contrast with selective settings on levels of sensitivity.
- Additional Connectors such as Lexis Affinity added (widely used in the legal sector) – lots more connectors underway.
