Transfer a domain name

Did you know you can transfer your domain names from one domain provider to another?

To be eligible for a transfer, you must have been with your current domain provider for at least 60 days as the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) requires domain providers to lock most domains for 60 days after registration.

Why transfer a domain name?

Reasons for transferring your domain name to another domain provider include cheaper rates, better service or the simplicity of managing all of your domain names in one place.

When you transfer all your domains to IT&T, you’ll enjoy streamlined services and cheap renewal rates.

Is it difficult to transfer a domain name?

The process for transferring a domain name is simple. Firstly, you’ll need to source your authcode for the domain (also known as a domain password, registry key or EPP). This password is created when you first register your domain. To retrieve this password, login to your domain manager with your current domain provider and look under the domain settings.

From there all you need to do is identify the domain name and authcode, add them to the cart at your new domain provider and you’ll then be able to transfer the domain. Domain name transfers are always processed instantly but can take up to 5 days to complete.

How much does it cost to transfer a domain name?

You can transfer all your domain names to IT&T now for FREE. You will only be asked to renew the domain if it is within 90 days of expiry or in some cases if it's a global domain as some will require renewal on transfer.
