Microsoft is revealing the largest update to the Surface portfolio in its history. New Surface products built for windows 11. the new Laptop Studio along with a redesigned Surface Pro 8, a new Surface Go 3, updates to Surface Pro X and the Surface Slim Pen 2.
Windows has always been a platform for the world’s innovation – a place for anyone to create, connect, learn and achieve. Not too long ago, the folks at Microsoft introduced a slew of new Surface devices designed for Windows 11 and the Android mobile operating system. this was the most significant update of the Surface portfolio ever, and it has everything to do with the launch of a new operating system.
New Surface products With PixelSense displays, new pen technology, premium mics and cameras, powerful silicon and versatile form factors, the new Surface devices are designed to take Windows innovation to the next level.
The headliner of Microsoft’s event is the Surface Laptop Studio, a laptop with an adjustable screen so users can view the display in various modes. In Laptop Mode, the Surface works like a traditional laptop. In Studio Mode, the 14.4-inch touchscreen can be placed flat like a tablet.
Microsoft also revealed three versions of the Surface Pro 2-in-1 tablets, It’s the first major form factor update to Microsoft’s venerable detachable 2-in-1 tablet in several generations.
If you’re on a stricter budget but still want a Surface tablet, Microsoft has you covered with the Surface Go. Now, Microsoft is launching an updated Surface Go 3, which will continue to start at $399 but will add the option for a more capable Intel Core i3 processor. The company notes that this version will be 60% faster than the Surface Go 2.
The Go 3 also misses out on a 120Hz screen, instead of sticking with the more common 60Hz. the Go 3’s screen is smaller than the Surface Pro 8’s, and its resolution of 1,920 by 1,280 pixels is also much lower than the 2,880-by-1,920-pixel screen on the Surface Pro 8.
Finally, let’s look at the Surface Duo 2, the second Android-based smartphone from Microsoft. the original Surface Duo phone wasn’t quite a mainstream success, Microsoft is applying its learnings to the Surface Duo 2. This year’s Duo 2 is an iterative update, improving on many of some of the pain points from its predecessor while retaining the original’s dual-screen form factor that’s part of the Duo’s namesake. It’s faster, due to the addition of the Qualcomm Snapdragon® 888 5G Mobile Platform, and the triple camera system designed to deliver better photos than ever before.
The Laptop Studio will set customers back $1,599 to start while the Surface Pro 8 rings in at $1,099. The company is selling the Surface Pro X computer for $899, the Go 3 tablet for $399, and the Surface Duo 2 phone for $1,499.
The Surface Slim Pen 2, which has been redesigned with a sharper tip to “put a finer point on writing, shading, and inking,” costs $129.
