Fixed Wireless technology is where data is sent from a transmission tower and travels wirelessly to an antenna that has been fitted by an nbn approved installer to the end user’s roof. The transmission tower itself is connected to the nbn™ access network with fibre optic cables. Fixed Wireless is generally used for connecting homes and businesses in rural or remote areas. It’s also used in places where the nbn fixed access network can’t reach all the way to the end user’s premises.
